The application uses Swiss Ephemeris with Lahiri Ayanamsa for planetary calculations, which provides high-precision astronomical data. Minor differences with JHORA can occur due to different calculation methods, precision levels, or ephemeris data versions. The application specifically uses LAHIRI settings including non-linear precession and true positions. Both systems are accurate, but slight variations (usually within minutes of arc) are normal due to different computational approaches and rounding methods.
Currently, the application doesn't provide a direct "delete" function for individual records. You can uninstall and re-install the application to start fresh.
No, all data is stored locally on your computer only. The geocoding service (Nominatim) is only used to fetch coordinates for location names, but your personal birth details are never sent to external services.
The application uses the Vedic (Indian) astrological system with Lahiri Ayanamsa for sidereal calculations. It calculates planetary positions, nakshatras, rashis, and houses according to traditional Vedic astrology principles. The Swiss Ephemeris library ensures high astronomical accuracy for all planetary computations.
Yes, the application includes integration with JHORA software. You can export selected charts directly to JHORA using the "📊 Jhora" button in the search results. The application automatically formats the birth data and opens it in JHORA for further analysis.
The application uses Nominatim geocoding service to automatically fetch coordinates for entered locations. It includes multiple fallback strategies and caches results for better performance. The application handles various coordinate formats and provides proper timezone detection for accurate chart calculations.
Yes, the application supports ancient dates including BCE (Before Common Era) dates. It automatically converts BCE notation to astronomical year numbering for accurate calculations. For example, "15/03/5113 BCE" is properly handled and converted for Swiss Ephemeris calculations. However, some modern features like Bhrigu Chakra Paddati is disabled for ancient dates.
Click on "User Details" in the main menu to open the user profile window. You can update your name, birth details, current location, and other personal information. The changes are automatically saved and will be used for transit calculation.
If you encounter coordinate lookup errors, try entering the location with different spelling variations or use a nearby major city. The application includes fallback mechanisms for common Indian cities (Mumbai/Bombay, Chennai/Madras, etc.). You can also manually enter coordinates if automatic geocoding fails.
Add optional details for the native, such as profession, marital status, country of birth/residence, or notable life events. These enrich your database for targeted filtering and deeper demographic studies in Jyotish research.
User Guide with Screenshots
The main application window after launch. The left panel contains birth details input fields (Name, Gender, DOB, TOB, Country, State, City) with auto-populated coordinates and timezone. The right panel shows analysis tabs. Three chart formats (North Indian, South Indian, BNN Directional) are displayed below. The status bar at the bottom shows live transit positions updated every 60 seconds. The Planet tab loads that has all the planet details
The Daily Panchang popup appears automatically at startup, showing the complete traditional Panchang for the current day. Left column: Panchangam (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana, Vara), Graha Sthiti (Moon/Sun sign, Ayana, Hora), and Shubha Kala (Abhijit Muhurta, Amrit Kalam, Choghadiya). Right column: Sunrise/Sunset, Ashubha Kala (Rahu Kalam, Gulika, Yamagandam, Durmuhurta), and Hindu Calendar (Masa, Ritu, Samvatsara, Vikram/Shaka Samvat).
User Details dialog for configuring calculation settings: Ayanamsa (10 options including Lahiri, Raman, KP), Node Type (Mean/True), House System (9 options), Show Outer Planets toggle, DST setting, and current location for transit calculations. The API key has to be registered here for using the AI analysis feature.
The AV+ tab combines Aspects, Avastha, Bhinnashtakavarga (BAV), and Sarvashtakavarga (SAV) in four sub-tabs. The Aspects sub-tab shows classical Vedic Graha Drishti — which planets aspect which houses and which planets aspect each planet.
The Avastha sub-tab shows all five classical planetary state systems from BPHS Chapter 45: Baladi (Age — Bala/Kumara/Yuva/Vriddha/Mrita), Jagradadi (Alertness — Jagrata/Swapna/Sushupti), Deeptadi (Soul — 9 states from Deepta to Kopa), Lajjitadi (Mood — 6 states based on house/aspects), and Sayanadi (Activity — 12 states). The Overall column provides a combined strength assessment. Rows are colour-coded: green=Strong, white=Moderate, orange=Weak, red=Very Weak.
Individual Ashtakavarga tables for each of the 7 planets (Sun through Saturn). Each table shows benefic points (bindus, 0-8) per sign from all 8 contributors (7 planets + Lagna). Colour-coded: green for 5+ bindus (strong), red for 0-2 (weak). Based on BPHS Chapters 66-72.
The combined Ashtakavarga overview showing total bindus per sign (sum of all 7 BAV tables). Grand total is always 337. The combined grid shows all planets plus SAV in one view. Colour-coded: green (30+ strong), orange (25 or below), red (22 or below). Used for transit predictions — high SAV signs give better results for all transiting planets.
18 Vedic doshas analyzed with three-colour status: Red (active dosha), Amber (present but cancelled), Green (absent). Each dosha shows formation details, cancellation checks, and classical remedies.
Complete Panchang for the birth chart with professionally styled sections: Vedic Birth Record (Ghati/Phala/Vighati, Prahara, Sanskrit Vara, Samvatsara), Basic Panchanga (Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Karana), Advanced Panchanga, Calendar Years, Sun Timings (Hora Lord, Sidereal Time), Hellenistic Lots, NTP (Yogi/Avayogi), and Panchadha Maitri compound relationship matrix.
50+ yogas detected across multiple categories: Pancha Mahapurusha, Raja Yoga (conjunction, mutual aspect, exchange), Dhana, Neecha Bhanga (4 conditions), Viparita Raja, Gaja Kesari, Lunar/Solar yogas, Parivartana, Nabhasa (Sankhya/Dala/Ashraya/Akriti), and more. Each yoga shows category, involved planets, and source reference (BPHS, Brihat Jataka, etc.).
Two sub-tabs: Overview shows Sade Sati (7.5 years, 3 phases), Ashtama Shani, Kantaka Shani, Ardha Ashtama Shani, and Saturn Return with exact dates. Saturn 12-House Transit shows a complete ~30-year forecast with entry/exit dates, duration, and classical effects per house.
19 divisional charts (D2 through D60) displayed with North and South Indian formats. D-chart buttons arranged vertically on the right. D1 charts shown on the left for comparison. Vargottama planets (same sign in D1 and divisional) are highlighted in bold.
Right-click any D-chart button for detailed calculation formula, interpretation, step-by-step calculation, planet position comparison table, and Amsha Devata (ruling deity) information.
